Philosophy of Care
Using a warm and compassionate approach, I take the time to learn about you and understand your thoughts and feelings. Together we will figure out your goals for our time together and how I’ll be able to help you best. From there I use my training to help you on your journey toward meeting those goals, for example: improving your mood, managing your anxiety better, working through loss, or improving your interpersonal relationships.
I often start with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques, but as necessary, incorporate my training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) techniques. I operate from a trauma-informed perspective as I recognize that these types of life experiences can greatly impact us and how we view the world.
If you have any questions about how I do my work, please do not hesitate to contact me as I am happy to discuss this with you. It is important that a therapist and a client are a good fit, so it’s often good to take a few minutes to determine if I am the right fit for you at this time.
